Newborns are my favorite subject to photograph! I have over 10 years of experience, and have done over a hundred newborn sessions. Your baby is in the best hands with me! A true newborn session is done within the first two weeks of life. The goal is to capture their tiny size and how squishy and curly they are. Your baby will grow so fast, and you will want to remember how they looked when they were so new! A newborn session is done in my Highlands Ranch home studio, on a weekday morning. I have so many props, backdrops, wraps, headbands etc. so you don't have to bring anything except baby (unless you have something special you want to incorporate!). I do most of my newborn shots in their birthday suit, or swaddled. For mom and dad, a plain neutral-colored shirt (white, cream, black) and jeans is best. Newborn sessions are long (2-3 hours) because I build in lots of time for feeding, changing and rocking to sleep. Patience is key to grabbing those few amazing shots, but you don't have to do anything in that time! I expect my new mamas (and dads!) to relax, drink coffee from my coffee machine, eat snacks, and get caught up on anything you need to do! Siblings are always welcome for the full session and I love to get sibling and family shots, if applicable! If it works to have the spouse and sibling(s) come at the end, that seems to work best, but if you have to bring one car, I have three kids of my own so I own a few toys. ;)
If you know you want to schedule a newborn session, contact me as soon as you know your due date. I am only able to take 4 newborn sessions a month at this point. Most people book a few months in advance to ensure a spot, however, don't hesitate to contact me last minute if you need to and I'll see what I can do. ;) I will put your due date on the calendar when I receive your contract and deposit ($100, goes toward total), and then you contact me as soon as baby is here and we then work together to find the best day for your session (a week day within 2 weeks)!
After the session, I post a sneak peak on my blog, and then I promise images in 1-2 weeks. You will receive an online gallery for viewing/sharing/downloading/purchasing lab quality prints. I am passionate about you having access to your digitals, so there is no ordering session and I don't expect you to spend a penny more than the initial session charge. However, I do have access to a professional lab and can help you with ordering if that's the route you want to go. I don't think anyone ever regrets ordering quality prints!
